About Us

If you want to experience the benefits of authentic and traditional Korean Martial Arts, Master Chon is the perfect instructor for you

Master Chon

Master Chon was born in Seoul, South Korea, and began his Taekwondo journey at the age of four. With over 40 years of training, Taekwondo has been a lifelong pursuit for him. From elementary school through college, Master Chon majored in Taekwondo, further honing his skills and knowledge. He later served as an officer in the Korean Army, where he taught Taekwondo to fellow soldiers.

After completing his military service, Master Chon continued his education at the University of Central Florida, earning a Master’s degree in Exceptional Education.

In addition to being a highly skilled martial artist, Master Chon has been an active competitor throughout his life, dedicating 4-6 hours a day to training. He is also a former officer of the Korean Army’s special forces and holds an international certification from Kukkiwon, the official organization recognized by the Korean government for issuing Taekwondo certifications. In Korea, it is illegal to open a Taekwondo school or teach without proper certification from Kukkiwon, ensuring that Master Chon’s instruction is both authentic and officially recognized.

Our school

Master Chon teaches the most authentic Korean martial arts, Taekwondo, to his students.  Master Chon’s classes incorporate his firsthand experience from South Korea into every class, as well as important life lessons and values, which are integral to the sport. As a student of Tiger Martial Arts, you will not only improve your physical abilities and self-defense skills, but also learn the importance of respect, leadership, and being a positive influence in your community.

Master Chon always emphasizes to his students that “Taekwondo is unique because it goes beyond fighting skills.”

In addition to learning techniques like punching, kicking, self-defense, and sword techniques, you’ll experience the cultural bond between a Master and their students, which is at the heart of Korean martial arts. Master Chon encourages his students to uphold high ethical standards, set and achieve personal goals, and strive for excellence in all areas of life.

If you want to experience the true benefits of traditional Korean martial arts, Master Chon is the perfect instructor for you.

Our staff

Master Chon is the main instructor at Tiger Martial Arts, supported by assistant instructors. Becoming an assistant instructor is an honor earned through hard work and dedication to the sport. Only students who have demonstrated exceptional skill and character are considered for teaching roles. To become an instructor or assistant instructor, students must not only hold a black belt but also prove to Master Chon that they can serve as a role model to their peers. This commitment to excellence makes achieving a black belt at our school a true challenge, ensuring that every black belt is a leader, both on and off the mat.
